THE FORM OF EMPTY SPACE
2017

"The form of empty space” series consists of five experimental architectural objects designed by Michele De Lucchi in 2017 and made of solid walnut thanks to the collaboration with Davide and Maurizio Riva. The execution of these sculptures is no longer based on the manual constructive possibilities, but on the sophisticated technological capabilities of the five-axis machine. Five-axis machining allows you not only to define the outer shape and contour, but allows you to dig into the wood block materializing the empty space within the architectures. The result is a series of models farther away from the iconic image of architecture, but closer to the reality of built spaces.
